High Risk Streets

This post was written by Tom Burke on March 1, 2017

Just when you thought it was safe to leave the office and venture out into the streets again, after most of the recently 80 designated possibly seismic risk buildings have been cleared, the government, courtesy of Minister Nick Smith, has issued a  list of “high risk quake streets” where there is a potential risk of falling parapets and facades in the event of  another sizeable shake. The Wellington CBD and Te Aro streets (17) are (in alphabetical order)

Bond St, Courtenay Place, Cuba St, Dixon St, Egmont St, Eva St, Ghuznee St, Holland St, Lambton Quay, Manners St Central, Taranaki St, Tory St, Victoria St, Vivian St, Wakefield St, Willis St and Woodward St.
